A Couple of Google Spreadsheets Tricks

I've seen the mentions of Google Spreadsheets (GS) now being able to provide live (or almost live) stock quotes recently. If you combine this quote ability with GS's ability to publish documents to share with others, and with the its robust response to being placed in an IFRAME tag, you can get some pretty cool results.

Extracting "Audio Only" from TiVo

A few years ago, I used to run a website called PVRHack.sonnik.com that had a lot of the files you'd need to download for TiVo Hacking. TiVo hacking was getting so popular; it was hard to keep up with all the changes coming daily.

Well, a lot of those early contributors found their way to DealDatabase.com, and TiVo hacks still surface quite often ... including this particular favorite of mine...

Controlling your BetaBrite with PHP

A common project to undertake is finding and old "BetaBrite" sign and using it for your own custom purpose. The company behind the BetaBrite, Adaptive Micro Systems doesn't offer a wealth of information for these type of projects, but if you Google enough - you'll find some information. I did, and I've authored small applications for my purposes using Visual Basic 6.0 and PHP.

Time to hack TiVo again!

The more I think about it, the more I realize I need to get back into my TiVo. It's been a couple years since I've done anything to it. I want to finally get the program data pulled off of Ether instead of dial up. TiVo is the only reason I still have a land-line.
